An overnight carries half the fee ahead on every date, so a peak night changes nothing about how it is paid. The other half is settled when she arrives in the evening. On the busiest nights, write early: the last night of the year wants four to six weeks of notice, and the parade weekend three to four.
Choose the start with the crowd in mind
On New Year's Eve the trams run a reduced service in the evening and stop for a while around midnight; on parade day the banks fill from late morning; on King's Night the squares stay loud until late. The night itself
An overnight is not eight hours of session. It includes time to talk, to eat, to watch fireworks from the window, and to sleep. What the session includes, and when, is hers to say at the start, as on any booking. Plan the evening loosely and let it find its own pace.
The morning after
She leaves at the end of the eight hours. If you have a flight or an early checkout the next day, say so when you book so that the start can be set to fit: a start at nine in the evening ends at five, and a start at ten ends at six. Choose the start from the morning backwards as well as from the evening forwards.
The hotel side
To a hotel, a night with a visitor is no different from any other night with a guest. If yours charges for a second person staying over, check its rules before you book, and keep the noise of the celebrations outside the window rather than in the corridor.
