Erotic massages in Amsterdam booked before the festival timetable is published
Festival tickets go on sale months ahead, but the hour each act plays is often published only a week or two before. A visitor who wants a booking on a festival weekend has to decide whether to fix the hour now or wait for the timetable, and the free move makes that choice easier.
Big music events in Amsterdam tend to announce their line-up long before they announce the times. You may know you will be in town for the festival, and know which evening matters, yet still be unsure whether your act plays at eight or at midnight. If the evening afterwards is the point of the booking, that one unknown decides the hour.
Fix the evening, not the exact hour
On a busy weekend the sound course is to fix a booking early, for a sensible guess at the hour. A booking fixed more than twenty-four hours ahead carries half the fee in advance, and in return the name and the evening are held for you. On a peak date, when the late hours go first, that is worth more than any precision about the start.
When the timetable appears
Once the times are published, look at your booking again. If the hour still works, nothing needs doing. If your act now ends later than you expected, ask in the thread whether the start can move later that same evening; the reply will say what is open. If the act has moved to another night entirely, the free move lets you take the booking to that date, provided you ask more than twenty-four hours before the booked time and the new date is within fourteen days.
Only one free move
The free move can be used once, so spend it on the timetable rather than on a guess. A second change, or one asked for inside the last day before the booking, is read on the notice scale exactly as a cancellation arriving at that moment would be, with whatever the scale does not keep carried over to the new date.
The dance event in October
The Amsterdam Dance Event shows the problem most clearly. Its programme is enormous, its full timetable usually lands close to the date, and its nights are peak dates. A visitor can fix an evening three weeks ahead and settle the hour once the times are out. The ADE page and the journal piece on writing in September go into it in detail.
A guess that errs late
If you must fix an hour before you know the times, choose a later one. A booking that starts after your act ends needs no change at all; one that starts in the middle of the set does. Late evening hours on a festival night are also easier for her to keep than the moment the crowd pours out of the venue.
